The Secret to Supercharging Your Affirmations
Ever since the 1980's, pretty much everyone is
familiar with the power of affirmations. The basic
principle of affirmations is that by repeating
affirmative statements over and over on a daily
basis, you can change your thought processes and
beliefs. Following the theory further, by changing
your thoughts and beliefs, you can change your
life. You can use affirmations about all sorts of
things, and once they are internalized the changes
begin to occur. I am a total believer in the power
of affirmations, but I have a different idea about
exactly what works.
Typically, authorities on the subject tell you to
put the affirmation in first person and present
tense. In other words, if you were going to affirm
that you will become wealthy, you would not say,
I will become wealthy, but rather I am wealthy.
The reason for this is the subconscious mind
believes whatever you tell it but has no concept
of time. So if you tell it you will become
wealthy, it will spin in circles in a holding
pattern waiting to become wealthy.
The way to maximize your affirmations is to take
them out of first person and put them into third
person. Instead of telling yourself, I am
wealthy. Say, You are wealthy. Now I'm sure you
are wondering why you would address yourself as
you. If you think about it, when you have
conversations in your head most frequently you do
address yourself as you. The reason for this is
that you think with your conscious mind, but who
you really are is your subconscious mind. Pretty
much, your subconscious perceives your conscious
as a separate entity. So if you tell your
subconscious mind that it is wealthy, then it will
create that reality.
I've used affirmations for years and have found
that doing this technique takes weeks off of the
time it takes to integrate a new affirmation. I
have also found it brings the realization of the
affirmation about in about the same ratio.
Until Next Week! Have a Great Life!
